    • Amp Research PowerStep XL Running Boards take the style and convenience of traditional running boards to the next level. As the name implies, these automated boards extend when your cab door is opened and tuck away when the door is shut. The extending and retracting happens quickly - in less than a second - so you're not waiting around. Unlike the base Powerstep model, these are designed to hang even lower - making them great for lifted trucks.

    The running boards are made with durable, die-cast aluminum and capable of supporting up to 600 pounds of weight. The steps boast a textured powder coat finish that resists rust and corrosion and helps with foot traction. The steps are powered by a weather proof motor with equally weatherproof wiring. The steps' stainless steel pivot pins are maintenance-free, too.

    Most applications feature an easy to follow plug-and-play installation using your truck's diagnostic (OBD-II) port. Plug-and-play applications also feature a pass through adapter so you can still use the port for other hardware. All applications come with detailed installation instructions.

    Great product but did not take in consideration fender flares on certain model trucks as my Ram 2500 came from factory with them and I had a tough time getting over them. Also Amp Research has a great tech team.

    2017 RAM 2500 Mega 6.7 The installation was turn key. We watched hours of videos before the XL power steps arrived, we strongly advise future installers to do the same. It’s easier to spend hours viewing videos, than spending hours laying under your truck learning how to install the steps, believe me!

    Much better quality of materials, electronics, and workmanship than the Aries power step (I have both). Although Amp Research says "3 inches lower than standard, use for lifted Jeep" this is just right height for my non lifted Jeep Rubicon. Bolt on installation but a few places directions are a little misleading, but took my time and reviewed entire directions so only had to back up on install once (front is actually center). Electrical is a tight custom fit, no extra room for routing, so must go most direct route. Door trigger wiring taps into factory wiring harness behind passenger kick panel, looked tough to get at as hard to see, but used phone camera to photo the area and then knew could just reach in to disconnect factory plugs to lower for access to connect door trigger wires. Great, no triggers and magnets in the door jams as Aries has. Makes for a very custom fit all around, almost as if was a factory accessory. Be sure to call in to see what discount may be available, AAG willingly worked with me.
